Lanikūhonua location
Lanikūhonua sits in Ko Olina on Oahu’s west side, a quieter resort community set apart from the bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki. It’s renowned for unparalleled sunset views, crystal-clear water, and a peaceful, private setting — with neighbors like the Four Seasons and Aulani, and the Ko Olina lagoons, just minutes away.
Two event slots are available: morning-afternoon (10am–4pm) or afternoon-evening (4pm–10pm), with vendors arriving 1–2 hours before. The venue is closed Mondays, Tuesdays, national and Hawaii state holidays, and December 24 – January 2.
What I love about Lanikūhonua weddings
Lanikūhonua means “Where Heaven Meets the Earth,” and the name fits. The land was once the home of Chief Kākuhihewa, the 15th ruling chief of ancient Oʻahu, and in 1939 Alice Kamokilaikawai “Kamokila” Campbell made this beachfront property her home and gave it the name it still carries today.
What I love about filming weddings here is the versatility. Lanikūhonua’s separate event spaces let the day feel like an intimate elopement or a grand celebration depending on the phase you book — and each one opens straight onto the ocean. The wide lawns, the swaying palms, and those west-side sunsets give me beautiful light to work with no matter where you say your vows.

What's the capacity of Lanikūhonua?
Lanikūhonua has three distinct event phases that can be rented separately or together. Phase 1 (the largest lawn) accommodates up to 700 guests, Phase 2 fits up to 1,000, and Phase 3 is the most intimate at up to 150 guests. All three can be combined for larger celebrations — check the Lanikūhonua website for current details.
How does Lanikūhonua compare to other Oahu wedding venues?
Kualoa Ranch (where Paliku Gardens is) gives you a lush, mountain-surrounded jungle setting, while Lanikūhonua is an open coastal venue with oceanfront views. Paradise Cove is a more structured, resort-style space nearby in Ko Olina, and Four Seasons Resort Oahu offers a more luxurious, modern experience with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces. Yes — that's one of the things I love about Lanikūhonua. Couples have the flexibility to bring in their own wedding planners, caterers, florists, and decorations to personalize the space exactly how they want it.
What does it cost to get married at Lanikūhonua?

How far in advance should I book Lanikūhonua?
You can book up to 12 months in advance. A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your date, and the remaining balance is due 90 days before the event.
What are the time slots for a Lanikūhonua wedding?
There are two slots — morning-afternoon (10am–4pm) or afternoon-evening (4pm–10pm). Most couples choose the afternoon-evening slot for sunset ceremonies. Vendors can arrive 1–2 hours before.
